A proper C-segment sedan, for B-segment money
Proton has expanded the 2026 S70 line-up with two new entry variants — the Lite and the Prime. Both are now open for booking at authorised Proton dealers nationwide. The headline is the price: Proton expects both to land below RM60,000 when the official list is announced, which pulls the S70 into the same budget as a well-equipped Saga or a mid-spec Myvi — without shrinking the cabin.
New heart, same body
A naturally aspirated 1.5-litre i-GT engine with a CVT replaces the turbo + dual-clutch setup of the pricier variants — tuned for smooth, low-fuss daily driving.
Safety kept in
Six airbags, front and rear parking sensors and a rear-side radar system carry over — supporting blind spot detection, lane change assist and rear cross traffic alert.
Everyday tech
Three drive modes, wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, an electric parking brake with auto brake hold, remote engine start and a reverse camera all feature.
Two ways into the S70
Both share the same NA 1.5-litre engine, CVT and core safety package. Proton has confirmed that equipment levels differ between the two — the full split will be revealed at the official launch.

Lite & Prime
- Engine: 1.5-litre i-GT naturally aspirated

Worth knowing: the Lite and Prime do not get AEB (autonomous emergency braking) or adaptive cruise control — those Level 2 ADAS features remain exclusive to the turbocharged Flagship and Flagship X. Both NA variants do keep the Rear Side Radar System, which covers blind spot detection, lane change assist, rear cross traffic alert, door-opening warning and rear collision warning.
